Take the Big Waves Sukajan on your seaside getaways
In late September in Saint-Malo, the tide rises and the waves crash against the sea wall. The air smells of salt, but the navy blue satin cuts through the chill without weighing on your shoulders. As you walk along the ramparts, you carry the scene unfolding right before you on your back, with a golden carp leaping from the foam as a bonus. The white sleeves billow in the wind like a sail. A nice nod to the fact that the first sukajans were born in the port of Yokosuka, worn by American sailors. A jacket with sea spray in its history.
A jacket that's easy to take on a trip
Satin has a reputation for creasing at the slightest touch, which is often what holds you back before a trip. Rolled rather than folded, this embroidered satin jacket comes out of the suitcase almost intact, and a few minutes on a hanger in a warm bathroom is enough to smooth out the sleeves. Its light weight means you can keep it on your shoulders on the plane when the air conditioning kicks in. Once you arrive, this Japanese souvenir jacket goes with linen shorts during the day as well as chinos for evening wear. A travel companion that takes up little space and makes for many photos.

What is Tenko?
Tenko is a French boutique specializing in all things Japanese, founded in Brittany and now based in Paris. You will find Japanese clothing (kimonos, kimono jackets, haoris, sukujans, jinbei), Japanese decor (lanterns, posters, noren, maneki-neko), Japanese tableware, and Japanese jewelry. Our small team selects each product for both enthusiasts and the curious.
What is the difference between a kimono, a yukata, and a kimono jacket?
The kimono is the traditional Japanese garment, long and worn with an obi belt. The yukata is its lightweight cotton version, worn in summer and at festivals. The kimono jacket (or haori) is a short, modern version that is easy to wear every day with jeans or a dress. To learn more: what is the difference between a kimono and a yukata?
How do I choose the right size?
The size guides on our product pages are already converted into European sizes: simply choose your usual size using the chart. Since our clothing is made in Asian sizes, the label on the garment you receive will show an Asian size, which is often 1 to 2 sizes larger: this is normal, and the garment will correspond to the European size you ordered. See our size guide.
What are the delivery times?
Your order is prepared within 2 to 5 business days and then shipped within 6 to 15 business days depending on your location, making it 8 to 20 business days in total. Some items are shipped from our logistics partners in Asia, which explains these timeframes. You can find all the details on our delivery page.
How much does delivery cost?
Standard delivery costs €3.90 and is free for purchases of €49 or more. Insured delivery (loss, theft, damage) costs €7.90, or €4.90 for purchases of €49 or more.
Do you deliver outside of France?
Yes, we deliver to mainland France, the French overseas departments and territories, Europe, and worldwide. Depending on the delivery country, customs formalities may apply.
How can I track my order?
A tracking number is sent to you by email as soon as your package has been shipped. It becomes active within 2 to 5 business days. Remember to check your spam folder. You can also track your order here.
Can I return an item?
Yes, you have 14 days after receipt to request a return by first writing to us at contact@tenko.fr. The item must be unused and in its original condition. Return shipping costs are your responsibility unless the product is defective or the error was ours. The refund is issued within 14 business days after receipt of the package. See our returns & exchanges page.
What Japanese gift idea should I choose?
For a Japanese gift that will be appreciated: a furoshiki, a lucky maneki-neko, a bento box, a teapot, a set of chopsticks, a piece of jewelry, or a kimono jacket. Our Japanese accessories and decor are suitable for all budgets.
